Understanding The Backgammon Six-Point
You have to master the basic principles of backgammon whether you play on or off line before you start playing the game. There are two players, two dice and the players have either fifteen red or fifteen black checkers each. The objective of the game is that you have to move all your checkers off the board and prevent your opponent from moving them off.
The backgammon six-point is one of the principles of the game. The six-point is a particular position on the board and each player has his own backgammon six-point. The board has six triangular slots and the checkers are placed on each one. The six-point position is the sixth triangular piece. This is the final resting place where each player has to move his or her checkers, before moving them off the board. If you have most of the checkers on the six-point, the chances are you will win the game. This is because after you have got your checkers there, all you need to do is to roll the die a few times, to move the checkers off the board and win the game. This is bound to happen unless your opponent gets some amazing luck when throwing the die.
So when you are playing backgammon six-point, your main job is to be focused on the six-point and to try and move all your pieces strategically, so that you get to the six-point as quickly as possible. But be very careful while you are doing this if you are trying to remove your rivals checkers. If there is a checker in your six-point, and your rival rolls a dice which lands him on one, and if you happen to have a single checker there, then you may well be thrown off and you have to start the game all over again ! This is the fun of backgammon six-point.
