Basic Blackjack Rules for Beginners

Blackjack rules are probably the easiest card game rules to learn. The game of blackjack is incredibly simple and even if you know absolutely nothing about it you can learn blackjack rules quickly and start playing the game right now!

The game of blackjack is played with two to eight regular 52-card decks of cards, shuffled together. In this game, each player is playing against the blackjack dealer so in any given game some players can win and some can lose or all can win or lose.

Blackjack rules state that to begin the game of blackjack the blackjack dealer deals out two cards, face up, to each player. He deals himself two cards as well, but one is face up and one is face down. In order to win the game you must try to obtain a hand as close to 21 without busting and going over 21. Your hand must also be higher than the dealer’s hand in order for you to win. In order to achieve this goal you may ask the dealer to “hit” you with additional cards to up the value of your hand. When you are satisfied with your hand you may “stay” and you won’t receive more cards.

To end the game the dealer flips over his face down card to expose the value of his hand. If his hand is lower than 17 he must hit himself with another card. After his final hand is revealed the winners are paid.
