Blackjack Strategy for Beginners
If you are a beginner in the world of blackjack then you will be excited to learn about the basics of blackjack strategy. With a basic understanding of blackjack strategy you can improve your blackjack game in a very short time.
The most basic element of blackjack strategy is to know when you should hit and when you should stay. This is determined by the makeup of your blackjack hand and of the dealer’s blackjack hand. At the beginning of the game you are dealt 2 cards. The object is to have cards with a total that is as close to 21 as possible without going over 21. Your hand must also be higher than that of the dealer if you want to win the game.
In order to achieve this objective you must be aware of when you should hit and when you should stay, based on specific hands. For instance, if your cards make up a value of 20 or 21, obviously you should stay. In fact, if the exposed card of the dealer’s blackjack hand is 4, 5 or 6 then the dealer has a 40% chance of going bust so you can stay on any hand over 11 points. However, if the dealer’s exposed card is good such as 8, 9, 10 or a face card then you should hit on anything under 17 points.
Follow these simple rules of blackjack strategy and you can improve your blackjack game in no time.
