Four Player Options in Online Blackjack
After you are dealt your first two cards, you have four different options in online Blackjack. When learning how to play Blackjack, it’s important to be aware of what each option entails and when they should be used. Knowing all of your options helps you win your Blackjack game by making the best decision for your hand.
The first online Blackjack option is called a Hit. Hits are taken to receive one additional card. Players often take hits if their hand total is between 5 and 8, though there are other times when Hits can and should be taken. The opposite of a Hit is a Stand. Standing means that a player doesn’t want to make any changes to his hand, just leave it as is. It’s wise to stand if you’re holding a hand value between 17 to 21 (with some exceptions).
Blackjack rules also allow you the option of a Double Down. For this online Blackjack move, you must double your bet, take one Hit, and then Stand for the rest of the game.
Players may Split in online Blackjack when they receive two cards of the same value, such as 5-5. These hands then become two separate hands when they receive one additional card. You should always split with A-A and 8-8.
