Creating the Ultimate Backgammon Book List

With so many backgammon books out there, it may seem overwhelming to be handed the task of creating that ultimate backgammon book list that incorporates beginner, intermediate, advanced backgammon and expert play strategies. We've done the work for you and this could be used as a guideline for the perfect backgammon book list.

The first on the backgammon book list would be Peter Magriel's "Backgammon" - one of the most comprehensive texts available to players today. Next would be Walter Trice's "Backgammon Boot Camp", considered the successor of Magriel's masterpiece.

Next on the backgammon book list would be Bill Robertie's "Advanced Backgammon: Volumes I and II" which covers play directed at advanced players extremely well. Jeremy Paul Bagai's "Classic Backgammon Revisited" is a natural follower. The book list should end off with another one by Robertie, "Modern Backgammon". Parallel reading to this list should include Kit Woolsey's "Amatuer vs. Expert" and Marty Storer's "Backgammon Praxis". By creating a book list and slowly buying these texts for your collection, you will find that all the stages of backgammon are covered and you can continuously go back and refer to some of the greatest works by top writers and players in the industry.
