Online poker strategy: each action has a double meaning
When your opponent makes a move what does it really mean? Knowing that there are five main actions in poker that can have a double meaning is the best online poker strategy out there. You have to remember that having a good online poker strategy is not only based on your cards, what your opponents are doing but also the size of your stack.
Bet – you are the first person in the hand to bet something. Generally it is a good idea to bet when you have a good hand but don’t bet too big or you will scare people away. If your fellow player thinks that you are bluffing they may raise through the roof. You would want to bet with an OK hand thereby saying goodbye to players that would only win if they hung around.
Fold – you decide that you don’t want to carry on playing the hand. Only do this when your chances of winning is next to nothing.
Call – when you can see someone else's bet. You have an OK hand but it could be better or you have a great hand and are slow at playing it.
Check – you don’t want to do anything but you are still in the game. This can only be done if no one has betted before you. It doesn’t matter it is good to be on the safe side.
Raise – you raise the price of the previous bet to stay in the game. To scare everyone away, you feel that the other guy is bluffing or you simply have a great hand.
Online poker strategy is something you have to learn and by you reading this you are on your way to becoming a champ. Your online poker strategy can only get better with practice.
