The attaché backgammon board

The attaché backgammon board is a popular version of the backgammon board. Like any backgammon board it needs to have 24 points on which to play, and needs to have storage area for the backgammon checkers out of play around the board. It must have a bar area for backgammon checkers that have been hit, and be sizeable enough for comfortable and enjoyable play.

The backgammon board should be accompanied by at least 30 backgammon checkers in two colors, two dice, two shakers and a doubling cube. So long as the backgammon board contains these items, then the set is ready for a backgammon game.

However, storage also needs to be taken into consideration. The attaché backgammon board is basically a standard backgammon board that serves also as the board’s case. It folds to store all the backgammon checkers and other playing pieces and should have a handle for easy carrying. Other options include a standard boxed version and a 3-in-1 version of the backgammon board which also include draughts and chess on the other side.

The main benefit of the attaché backgammon board is that it is durable. The boxed versions often split and so pieces get lost or the backgammon board gets damaged. They are often cumbersome, whereas the attaché backgammon board is easy to transport due to its briefcase style outer casing. It also protects the board, as it always certain to be stored carefully.

The attaché backgammon board is also cost effective as it always comes complete. Plus, its durability means that it does not need to be regularly replaced. This version is so popular that it is now the most commonly used way of presenting a backgammon board.
