The benefits of the consulting Chouette rule

The consulting Chouette rule that allows players to consult after the cube has been turned is considered by many Chouette players to be the best option. The rules concerning consulting Chouette have many variations, but this is the most commonly preferred amongst the game’s enthusiasts. When played this way, the consulting Chouette rule states that players can only consult with their team if their cube had been turned. The player can only consult if their cube is in the game. Any players who have dropped can not consult in that part of the Chouette game.

One main advantage of this is that the two most accomplished players will not necessarily dominate the game and the consulting Chouette decision, which is common in open consulting Chouette games. This gives a fairer Chouette game. Furthermore, the decisions are more difficult once the cube has been turned. A player who has not turned their cube could use this opportunity to gain advantage, and so it is fairer to allow only those who are willing to take the risk to consult.

Another advantage is that the consulting Chouette rule, that states your cube must be in play to consult, enables more dynamic play. Players want to stay in the game to be able to have a say. Playing the consulting Chouette rule in this way means that the start of the game is much faster paced; the moves are easier and the players want to be involved before the cube is turned and the more difficult moves come into the Chouette game. This means that a weak captain can also be supported by other, stronger players in the team.
