Understanding multiple stakes Chouette
There are many versions of the Chouette game around. All versions are designed for multiplayer enjoyment, and all require the same player structure; a box, a captain and a team with hierarchical values. Any Chouette game is played on a backgammon board with checkers for moving pieces, two dice to move and a doubling cube to up the stakes.
An uncommon version of the Chouette game is multiple stakes Chouette. This version differs in that multiple stakes Chouette allows each member to play for different stakes. Usually the stake is agreed at the beginning and all Chouette players stake the same. In multiple stakes Chouette each player stakes a certain number time the agreed stake. This enables Chouette players to join in the game regardless of the amount in their bankroll.
Multiple stakes Chouette sets the designated stakes at the beginning. For instance, Player A may play at 1x the stake, whilst Player B plays for 3x the stake and player C plays for 2x the agreed stake. These stakes are kept by each Chouette player throughout the Chouette game.
The box is also given an agreed stake, but plays in accordance with the stake of his opponent. The box and his opposing Chouette players always play to the minimum of their designated stake. This means that if the box is playing at 4x the stake amount against Player B; their stake amount they would both play for would be 3x the stake. However, if the box was playing at 1x the stake amount, this would be their stake.
When the box is playing several Chouette players at any one time, he plays each in accordance with their designated stake. This means that the box is playing various stakes at any one time, whereas the other players all stay constant.
